Online Training via lynda.com
OIT Technical Support Services has purchased nine subscriptions to lynda.com that form a lending library of online training tutorials. WVU faculty, staff, and student employees can request temporary access for a two week loaner period to view these online tutorials. During the loan period, the WVU employee can view as many movies from the lynda.com resource as they wish. To request an account, send email to workshop@mail.wvu.edu.
The lynda.com online training library presents tutorial moves online as quicktime demonstration movies with narration. Sometimes exercise files are available for download in order to work on projects demonstrated. Topics are mostly related to software for graphic design, video editing, and web page development; there are also tutorial movies for MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Captivate, and AutoCAD.
A transcript of viewed movies will be emailed to the employee at the end of the loaner period. To view a list of current lynda.com tutorial topics, go to www.lynda.com.
