GroupWise 7.0.1 Linux*

The GroupWise 7.0.1 Cross-Platform client for Linux is designed to allow computers running the Linux operating system to access the WVU GroupWise system. Please consult the list of system requirements below to ensure this software is compatible with your computer.

System Requirements

  1. Java Virtual Machine (JVM) 1.5 or later
  2. 200 MB of free disk space
  3. Any of the following desktop operating systems:
    • Novell Linux Desktop, plus the KDE desktop or the GNOME desktop
    • SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 10, plus the KDE desktop or the GNOME desktop
    • Red Hat Desktop 4 or Red Hat Enterprise Linux WS 4, plus the GNOME desktop

Note: Linux Systems that do not meet the above system requirements can seek to utilize GroupWise WebAccess

Instructions

  1. Download, unarchive, and install the client from the following file: gw701clnxm.tgz
  2. When running the client for the first time, enter the following information in addition to your WVU GroupWise username and password where prompted:

    • Type the following for server: ngwnameserver.wvu.edu
    • Type the following for port: 1677
