About AAIMS
AAIMS Charter
The AAIMS family of committees are composed of individuals representing all facets of the University who are interested in and/or responsible for the operation, maintenance, and upgrade of information systems. The goals of the committee structure are:
- To provide a “voice” to all the affected units on campus in selecting and prioritizing the projects assigned to the Office of Information Technology (OIT) and affiliated units.
- To keep all campus units informed of system changes or upgrades that may impact their operations.
- To maintain a single repository of documentation relating to IT projects.
- To review and approve IT policies and standards relating to application software and systems.
Strategic Oversight Council
The Strategic Oversight Council is made up of senior members of the University’s central administration. This group is responsible for determining the final priority and approval for requested projects related to the administrative and academic information management systems. Members of this committee may not delegate their voting responsibility to another individual at any time without specific approval of the council chairman. In general, such delegations will only be approved under extreme circumstances. The council responsibilities include
- Approving, prioritizing and monitoring systems development and upgrades; all requests must be reviewed and prioritized at this level
- Reviewing and approving proposals for computerized academic and administrative systems development and making recommendations and funding requests to the Budget Planning Committee/Capital Planning Committee as appropriate
- Reviewing and approving information technology standards

Executive Committee
The Executive Committee is made up of representatives of university departments involved in information technology related projects. This group is a standing committee responsible for oversight of all administrative and academic information management systems. A project coordinator for AAIMS related projects will be designated by the Chair of the Executive Committee. Executive Committee responsibilities include:
- Addressing issues which impact multiple systems (i.e., platform, infrastructure, etc.)
- Recommending AAIMS objectives and/or priorities as necessary
- Recommend priorities for and approval of projects
- Reviewing and recommending approval of information technology standards recommended by the OIT Chief Technology Officer
- Assisting with communication and change management
- Monitoring and reporting progress on all development activities including new systems implementation and systems upgrades
