(May 29, 2007) A Maryland high school field trip on April 18 included a visit to the Cisco Academy Training Center (CATC) in Morgantown, West Virginia. The CATC is operated by the West Virginia University Office of Information Technology. Bob Meyers, assistant director of the CATC, and Mabintou Traore, CATC instructor, hosted 25 students, their instructor, and guidance counselors from Garrett County High Schools in Maryland.

WVU Cisco Academy Recognized for National Job Shadow Day
(November 2, 2006) The Cisco Networking Academy Program has hosted and participated in the National Job Shadow Day since 2001. The goal is to encourage academy students to work with vendors and employers in information technology careers. Bob Meyers, assistant director of the WVU Cisco Networking Academy, received an award this year for hosting the most students on National Job Shadow Day. The kick-off for Job Shadow Day this year was February 2, 2006.
WVU Employees Judge ACM SIGUCCS Communication Awards
(October 10, 2006) Student guides, brochures, calendars, and posters are among the forty-two entries judged by WVU employees for a national competition sponsored by the Association of Computer Machinery Special Interest Group for University and College Computer Services (ACM SIGUCCS) communication awards.
