  • Critical Information for Faculty Using WVU eCampus in Fall 2007

(April 26, 2007) WVU eCampus shells will be generated automatically for all course sections effective Fall 2007 term. New shells will have a getting started module that faculty can choose to use if they would like. If you have existing content, please be sure to read this entire message.

If you plan to use WVU eCampus during the fall term, all existing course content MUST be rebuilt prior to August 1, 2007. In past terms, course content was centrally migrated or transferred into new shells each term. With the new version, content must be rebuilt in the WVU eCampus shell for Fall 2007 term courses. Faculty who have only used the syllabus or grade tools will not have content to rebuild.

Assistance is available now through August 1 to help faculty in rebuilding their courses. This help is available from WVU eCampus POCs, the ITRC, OIT Training workshops, and tutorials. An effort will be made to address special requests pending staff availability. Faculty can access information at https://ecampus.wvu.edu  and select “Faculty – Are you Ready for Fall?”  Due to anticipated system demands during mid to late August, faculty are encouraged to prepare fall courses now for a smooth transition.

For more information, contact the WVU OIT Helpdesk at oithelp@wvu.edu or call 293-4444.
