L-Soft LISTSERV is an electronic mail list management application that makes it possible to create, manage and control electronic mailing lists.
There are two types of LISTSERV lists: 1) announcement lists, where messages or announcements are sent to many people at once, and 2) discussion lists, where people with common interests can post messages or discuss topics with other people on the same list.
LISTSERV provides an effective way for WVU faculty and staff to communicate with large groups of people inside and outside of the University. There are potential advantages in using this technology over traditional e-mail address books for those wishing to expand communication capabilities and flexibility.
