The ITRC offers exciting new opportunities for teaching at WVU – whether on-campus or at a distance. Faculty members may use the resources of the ITRC to develop and explore new modes of teaching and to bring new technologies to bear on difficult instructional problems.
In order to request following services from the ITRC, faculty member must fill out the Project Request Form. Once we’ve received a Project Request, our staff meets with the interested faculty member to discuss the objectives and scope of the project and then we go through a series of activities to complete the project.

The ITRC provides consulting for the design and development of instructional materials for use in the classroom or at a distance. Whether you are teaching in an on-line environment or trying to incorporate a computer simulation into your classroom experience, ITRC can assist with the relevant issues. We also engage in curriculum development projects that involve integrating technology. We assist faculty interested in using online delivery as a supplement to, or as a replacement for, traditional in-class instruction.

The ITRC can assist with multimedia development, graphic design, digitizing video and audio, converting files, scanning images, assisting with hands-on aspects of course development. For assistance with multimedia development complete the Project Request Form.
WVU's iTunes University site is a joint project of Web Services and the Instructional Technology Resource Center. The day-to-day operations of iTunes U are managed by Web Services. The Instructional Technology Resource Center handles academic content. To request an account for academic content please fill out the Project Request Form.
The ITRC maintains two multimedia editing stations available by reservation to all WVU faculty. Each station is equipped with both flatbed and slide scanners, image editing software, audio record and editing software, video capture equipment (supported input sources include VHS, DVD, Laser Disc, and Digital Camera(, and video editing software. We can provide training on the use of the hardware or software needed to create your multimedia project. Reserve a time by completing the Media Center Reservation Form.
OIT hosts a number of media formats for web streaming on its Quicktime server. This service is limited to faculty who are teaching courses and need to host files that are components of those courses. You may request an account by filling out the Streaming Media Request Form.
Web 2.0 is a term that has been applied to a new breed of websites and web technologies that rely heavily on user-generated content. It features a higher level of interactivity and collaboration than previously seen on the Internet. Find out more about Web 2.0 Technologies.
