This position of Banner Applications Developer / Professional Technologist reports to the Assistant Director of Development, Student Systems Management in Enrollment Management Services within Student Affairs. This position’s responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Application development support in an Oracle/Unix environment in PRO*C, PL/SQL, SQL*PLUS, SQL*Loader, Java, PHP, Html, Discover, SOA (Service Oriented Architecture), etc. related to Student Affairs’ STAR (Banner) Student Information System. Provide analysis and application development for all STAR modules in support of all approved WVU reports, processes, and interfaces. Provide project management, project leadership, and applications development for approved management projects while monitoring/leading/ supervising project teams made up of other professional technologists, classified staff, graduate assistants, and student workers on an as needed basis. Provide application development liaison support SSM Business Analysts and Operations Units, Database Administrators, System Administrators, and end-users for program specifications and program documentation. Provide application development and interface support for University supported student related systems (MIX, eCampus, Emas, Mountaineer Card, Voyager, Liquid Matrix, Internet Payment Server (IPS), etc..).

Required qualifications include: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or related field and 6 – 8 years related work experience, OR Master’s degree and 5 years related work experience AND/OR an equivalent combination of education, certifications, and work experience. Candidate must have 6 – 8 years experience in two of the following areas:
1. Analysis and operation of the Banner Student Information System
2. Project management / program design / Programming
3. Programming / Program Testing within the Banner Student Information System
4. Operating System experience in UNIX using Oracle DBs
5. World Wide Web programming experience in Java, PHP, HTML, etc.
Ability to provide project management, leadership, mentoring, and supervision Demonstrated ability to write and modify PRO*C, PL/SQL, SQL*PLUS, SQL*LOADER, Java, PHP, HTML, Discoverer, and SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) scripts in an Oracle/Unix environment (preferably Oracle 10.2.x or higher; and AIX 5.3 or higher) while utilizing structured/modular programming techniques. Thorough technical and non-technical knowledge of the processes and applications of a higher education student information system (preferably Banner 7.x).
