| This position of Banner Applications Developer / Professional Technologist reports to the Assistant Director of Development, Student Systems Management in Enrollment Management Services within Student Affairs. This position’s responsibilities include but are not limited to: Banner Student Information System (STAR): Develop system specifications and design recommendations on small to large applications. Process includes providing project leadership while interacting with users and technical staff in developing application specifications, recommending a course-of-action, preparing time estimations, and coordinating the implementation of the application. Provide Java, PL/SQL, and PRO*C programming in an Oracle 10.x/UNIX environment in support of Banner Self-Service Web components and custom Banner applications. Provide programming liaison support and team leadership between Developers, Business Analysts, Operations Controllers, DBAs, System Administrators, and end-users for program specifications and program documentation. Provide diagnosis, analysis, trouble shooting, and assistance for maintenance of Student Affairs and Office of Student Accounts Banner software and related interfaces as well as complex custom interfaces to other University supported systems (MIX, Financial Aid Services (FASChek), Mountaineer Card, Voyager, Emas, Internet Payment Server (IPS), eCampus, Liquid Matrix, etc.). Required qualifications include: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or related field and 6 – 8 years related work experience, OR Master’s degree and 5 years related work experience AND/OR an equivalent combination of education, certifications, and work experience. Candidate must have 6 – 8 years experience in the following areas: 1. Higher education student information system software expertise, preferably Banner 2. Knowledge of Oracle/UNIX environments 3. Knowledge of Java, PHP, HTML, XML, SQL, PL/SQL, PRO*C, C, MySQL, and SQL Loader 4. Higher education administrative processes ? Three – fours years experience in technical supervisory or project management experience ?Thorough knowledge and proven experience of applications development in an Oracle/UNIX environment (preferably Oracle 10.1.x or higher; and AIX 5.3 or higher). ?
