Stop by any time during the event to take part in a quick (10-15 minute) training session. CTec staff will be available during the events to provide instructors with lectern access, demonstrations and practice sessions. Instructors who wish to use technology resources in University-supported classrooms are requested to attend an open house or schedule a personal appointment to learn about CTec equipment and support. CTec staff members will work to accommodate their schedules and ensure that they feel prepared to use the lectern and equipment in their classes.

Most of these rooms will be “CTec Standard” classrooms consisting of a PC (w/ DVD), document camera, touchpanel control system, projector, and input panel.   Percival Hall 315 will have the added functionality of a student-computer lab, and Woodburn Hall G20 will be a  “CTec Basic” classroom with a projector and input panel for laptop connectivity.

After replacing broken or missing clickers, new ID files have to be created and will be re-created at the beginning of each semester, so please click on your classroom’s PRS link and download the new version. Also, student-focused PRS training videos are available to help students understand how to work their clicker and have less problems during class. We strongly encourage faculty to show these videos during their first PRS use in class, or to assign as homework.

Please select this option when scheduling classes in one of our technology classrooms. Each “CTec Standard” room is equipped with a PC with DVD playback capabilities, data video projector, document camera, and auxiliary input panel.  Additional “optional” equipment may be requested via the comments box on the eSLI or writing it on the paper SLI. These optional items include microphones, personal response system (PRS), a Macintosh computer, and dual projection screens. Please note that not all equipment is available in all classrooms, but every effort will be made by Scheduling to place instructors in the rooms that best meet their instructional needs.

The Virtual CTec Standard Classroom simulates a CTec standard room with PC, Document Camera, etc. A similar 2-projector version is also available. And for CTec’s 6 new “Laptop Ready” rooms at Allen Hall, the Virtual CTec Basic Classroom is available. These simulations allow “virtual” control for your to test and familiarize yourself online. We still encourage instructors to contact CTec directly for a full training session.
